EENDEKUIL PRIMARY SCHOOL

New Medium Primary School to accommodate 620 learners, including 60 Grade R learners. Eendekuil is situated within the Bergriver Municipality. The design of the school was completed up to the end of stage 2 and the concept addressed themes of Scale, Light, Materials Colour and Connections. The layout has utilised a courtyard typology to create sustainable, active learning environments.

A school of rural character, we had to work within the existing school footprint. The hall has been strategically placed at the corner of the site, to be a beacon for the community and function both day and night as a community facility.

The classrooms are arranged around courtyards for each development phase, including an admin courtyard. These courts are accessed off a pedestrian street which forms an axis from the entrance to the sports facility at the back of the school property.
